Miriam Lorenzo - Digital and Fine Art

 

For Miriam Lorenzo, art is love, and life. She can’t imagine life without it.  It not only is love and life, it inspires further iterations of itself, and she believes that wherever it flourishes, so do the people it surrounds.  For that reason she seeks to find ways that she can use art to bring enrichment to her life and to the lives of others.  Why others?  Because she feels that without a connection to others, other connections are meaningless, and just plain not fun.

 

After working as a special education teacher for twenty years she finds herself more than ready to shift gears and fully jump in to her passion for art.  One of her favorite experiences with her students was teaching them how to enjoy the process of creating art without fear of “mistakes” and the judgement of others.  One of the best days of her life was the day one of her 4thgraders did not like a mark he had made during an art lesson, but instead of losing his temper as he normally would have, she heard him quietly say to himself, “Mistakes are okay…I can use it to make something new.”

 

Miriam currently lives in Reno, Nevada, with her loving pitbull terrier, Kassi.  She spends her time exploring the art scene in Reno and exploring new art techniques at home.
